Following up from the TCON, here is a description of using the existing 
watershed objects in itk:

Let me know if you have any questions.

I'll get some example code into the repository soon.  (Note that the
current incarnation in Insight can only handle 2d.  We are holding off on 
contributing the ND version until we rewrite all of the watershed code to
acommodate data-streaming).
