I think this makes sense.  However, if we go this way, I think we should not use the name "medical image". We are considering using this toolkit for other things, and there is a need for images that have physical coordinates in other domains.

I don't have another name on the top of my head, but I am sure we can come up with something else.

Perhapes "physicalImage" or "spatialImage" or something.
