As you may have heard by now, Nokia has added the LGPL license option
to Qt, beginning with Qt 4.5 which is scheduled for March 2009. Their
announcement can be found at:
http://www.qtsoftware.com/about/news/lgpl-license-option-added-to-qt

We at ICS believe this is fantastic news and we applaud Nokia/Qt
Software for taking this bold and perhaps unprecedented step. This
will undoubtedly make Qt the de facto standard in cross-platform
development.

You may be wondering, "What does this mean for my Qt development?" To
answer that, we have written a whitepaper detailing the implications
of LGPL for Qt developers. It is available in pdf format, free of
charge, from www.ics.com. Please take a moment to read it and if you
have any questions, we would be happy to address them with you
one-on-one. Send us mail at: qtlgpl at ics.com

If you suddenly find you need to get more of your developers up to
speed on Qt, we do have on-going Qt Programming courses scheduled,
with three available this quarter in Boston and Silicon Valley. More
info on our courses is available at www.ics.com/learning/training/

We look forward to being of service to you as the next chapter of Qt
development begins.

Best regards,

Integrated Computer Solutions
The Qt Experts
