Greetings from sunny Palm Springs!

We had a good tcon today with myself, Luis, Andinet, Patrick, David, and
Kevin Gary.

I posted the minutes on the Wiki and below.

The main focus now is trying to develop an example application for the
review meeting.

If you have any comments please let me know.

Kevin

Discussion of Nov 10 Board Meeting Proposed Agenda

1.	Kevin Gary expressed skepticism that we could expect the board to
make a decision on state machines after two hours of discussion
2.	We should probably focus the state machine discussion on what the
state machine will look like from an application viewpoint
3.	The example applications we are developing at Georgetown should help
frame the discussion here
4.	Kevin Cleary suggests we discuss this again at the tcon next week

Discussion of iteration 6 status (release 2 for board meeting)

1.	We need to be sure that the copyright notice at the top of the files
is correct - Luis and Andinet to check
2.	Everything has now been moved except the spatial object files.
Julien needs to check the code reviews from these files and then they can be
moved.
3.	We reviewed the dashboard. There is a problem with
ImageObjectRepresentation and the deletion of actors - Luis and Andinet to
check.
4.	There is a test failing for serial communication on one of the
Kitware machines with the loopback connector - David to check

Discussion of application

1.	Discussed example application "FourViewTrackingWithCT"
2.	Patrick will create this with the new Polaris Vicra at Georgetown
with help from Luis and David
3.	The new system uses a USB interface but it appears NDI does
something to make it look like a serial port. Therefore, we are hopeful
David's code will work but Patrick needs to check when he is back in the
office on Tuesday.
4.	We discussed how we would pass the tracker coordinates to the
registration method. David stated that a Get() method was probably not the
best way. Instead, we decided to have a spatial object for collecting
landmarks (fiducial positions).
5.	We also need a cursor for marking image points. Luis suggested that
Patrick use the new VTK landmark widgets recently developed by Will
Schroeder and in the latest VTK release.
6.	Patrick asked about error handling since IGSTK does not return error
messages. Andinet suggested an observer has to be set up to listen for those
events. It was also noted by David Gobbi that we had never decided on an
error handling strategy for IGSTK despite some discussion a while back.
Therefore, error handling should be added to the board review agenda (action
Kevin).
