Perrine, Pierre:
We did discuss your email at the tcon today and it would be helpful for you
to participate in the extension/development of tracker code
The key contact for the tracker and the technical lead for that component is
David Gobbi of Atamai Inc. whom Pierre met at the 6 month review meeting
A few very brief notes from the tcon
1. You can see some details on the Wiki pages at
http://public.kitware.com/IGSTKWIKI/index.php/Main_Page
2. in particular you should look at the tracker pages under design
discussions, tracker classes
3. It was suggested that you might implement a wrapper class about the
Medtronic library
4. if you like you can join the developers list - in this case use
this link
<http://public.kitware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/igstk-developers>
5. A request was made from our developers that you keep good notes and
let us know what it takes to work with this code but realize that the code
is in very early development
Let me know if you have any questions about the scope of the project. If you
have specific IGSTK questions, ask David Gobbi about tracker questions or
send email to the developers list (I guess this is preferred so all the
developers see it there are only about 8 developers right now)
Regards
Kevin

HI everyone:
Please see the request below from Pierre Jannin, whom many of you met at the
six month review meeting (the guy who brought the French wine)
I told him I thought it was too early for this, but I would like to put it
on the agenda tomorrow and discuss it at the tcon
Dont worry, I will dial in as moderator this time and we will be at our
normal time of 1 pm EST on Thursday
Thanks
Kevin

Kevin,
We are just starting to use the initial version of IGSTK release-iteration 1
to implement a special tracker class related to the StealthStation from
Medtronic. Medtronic has just released a communication library (named as
StealthLink or AsCL, it is not free) which allows to retrieve information
about tools localization from the StealthStation. It could be a good argue
for IGSTK to show that it can be integrated through neuronavigation
commercial products. What is your opinion about that ?
Perrine Paul, who is working on this, is now using the release 1 but she saw
that new iterations are available. Who may she contact for the Tracker class
and for the more stable available versions ? Isn't it too soon for
developing with IGSTK ?
