Hi everyone:
Attached is the edited version of the "Best Practices" MICCAI paper
I am sending this to everyone just FYI, but I think we can leave this paper
in Brian Blake's hands now to finish up and submit
Stephen, if you have time, it would be useful for you to scan this as well
and give any comments
As for the "Software Architecture" paper I believe we just need the
Viewers/Spatial Object section from Rick and Luis, but obviously Rick has
had his hands full getting us organized (which I appreciate very much) - I
am sure we can wrap this one up as the due date is Sunday (not the Friday
deadline I was mentioning before)
Talk to you on the tcon today!
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Attached you will find your MICCAI paper with my comments. First let
me apologize for getting it to you later than we had discussed. I
have been so swamped. I hope the comments and suggestions are still useful.
Now, for the analysis. I think it looks very good -- the "Best
Practice" paragraphs were very easy for a non-techie to follow, as
was the final paragraph in Section 3. One major issue to consider is
verb tenses. Sections 2 & 3 are for the most part in the present
tense, but I think it might work better to put them in the past tense
or the present perfect tense ("we have done"), since you are
reporting on what you have learned from what has already taken
place. I haven't changed any of the tenses, though, because I am
afraid that I am missing some good reason why you have written it in
the present tense. We can talk about this issue briefly when we meet.
In terms of the reference style, I am not sure what is required by
the publication/organization to which you are submitting the
paper. If you could find out for me, that would be great, and I will
check your references against that standard. As for page numbers, I
don't see any included, so regardless of reference style, you should
probably go back to your sources, determine the page numbers, and
insert them accordingly.
OK, looking forward to discussing all this and fielding any
questions/comments/concerns you have on Thursday!
See you soon, Sarah
