It looks like Luis' and my emails about the papers crossed in the dark! So I
was pleased to see the draft from Luis. I think with a little editing and a
section on spatial objects from Julien it is ready to go. Julien, if you can
add your piece tomorrow (or just edit what Rick has sent by then) and send
it to me I will add Hee-su's piece and then send it to our editor. We can
also discuss at the tcon on Thursday. It seems that state machines may be a
good topic for discussion in the future as well.

Luis, will you be able to submit the final version on Friday?

Thanks all

Kevin

Subject: MICCAI paper 2 : Architecture & State Machine

Kevin,

Here is an upgraded version of the Architecture
paper. I already merged David's section.

I'll continue working on the example application
description.

BTW, I found quite an interesting page on State
Machines in the Wikipedia.

   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_machine

Its reference section points to a number of software
packages related to Finite State Machines. They include
FSM designers, FSM testers, FSM editors, FSM compilers
and debuggers.

A particularly interesting link was to CHSM:
Concurrent Hierarchical State Machines,

http://homepage.mac.com/pauljlucas/software/chsm/

which at first glance seems to be the kind of mechanism we
have been looking for in order to deal with SM in derived
classes. Something to revisit once we are done with the
papers...

     Luis
