It looks like mapquest is cutting off open access to their tile server as of today. See here: http://devblog.mapquest.com/2016/06/15/modernization-of-mapquest-results-in-changes-to-open-tile-access/. Perhaps those that use satellite tiles could use http://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Imagery/MapServer/tile/{z}/{y}/{x}.png, though I don't know if that is within the terms of service.
