Matt,
Sure, that's a good idea (already we've merged head changes into the branch). In SVN, tags are a matter of policy only, as they are identical to branches (I think, svn has some new concepts for a guy who is finally getting his head around CVS [after 6 years]).

Could someone also make a 0.8.5 tag in addition to the branch? For what
it's worth, I tend to like tags because they (as per general cvs/svn
policy, anyway) always refer to the same code base; branches can sometimes
change over time for "back merged" changes from the trunk, etc.
