...and I'd be more then happy to have Kitware/CMake/ctest/Dart be the 
maintainer for such a tihng.

Alas, the base interface to the Dart server may not be that hard, and 
simply not worth this effort.  I don't yet have a feel for this.  I'm 
looking for pointers.
