[ITK] spine/bone segmentation

Hi,

I am wondering if there are filters in itk that are optimal form segmenting bone
structures from CT. In particular, I am interested in the spine. The
ultimate goa
is to contrucht a 3d model of the spine. I was using this with a
pipeline of smoothing,
thresholding, and morphological filter. But with noisy data, the results are
still unsatisfactory.

Does somebody have experience in this and can a hint which possibilities there
are for such thing.
