[ITK] FEM registration algorithm

Dear ITK community,

I have read the manual and checked online for a detailed description of the
algorithm implemented in ITK regarding FEM registration. In particular, I
have come across a good ppt here

For the moment, I have understood how to use the registration process and
how to use FEM library in ITK. By the way, I need some elucidation and
further details on the actual FEM registration implementation in ITK.

Could you please indicate me where I could find this piece of information?
Is there a paper I could look for?
