[ITK Community] [Insight-users] Removal of previous versions of ITK

Hi,

I removed the previous version 4.4 by removing all files in the build
folder.  Then I installed  ITK 4.5 .

However when I run my codes now, it displays problems with the include path
because ITK_DIR is stil set to previous value only.
How do i remove all traces of previous version from my system and setup the
paths properly ?
I have  setup ITK in /usr/local/Insight-Toolkit-4.5/build
