[CMake] What is the minimum requirement in adding a new language?

Hello,
 I have just started to use cmake. Who can give me some details on adding a
new language for cmake.
 I have got to know something about CMakeAddNewLanguage.txt. But I wander
how it works. Please give me some examples with detailed explanation. What
is needed in making it work. A good link about this is also welcome.
