I do this too, partly to work around the language and partly because we have
a configuration system that we want cmake builds to be consistent with (it
handles batch environments better and can build many optional dependencies).
So I'm only using CMake to write project files or pretty makefiles. This has
been a more pleasant experience than writing Find*.cmake modules.
