[Cmake] Big problem while trying to generate a VS6 project with cmake

Hi,

I don't understand what's going on: I want to generate a vs6 project to
compile VTK 4.2 with cmake 1.8.3 and everything used to work perfectly
but now, cmake seems to be frozen and stops at the first step:
"Check for working C compiler: cl"
I have the choice to either kill the cmake process or kill the msdev.exe
process. Then I got the error message:
The C compiler "cl" is not able to compile a simple test program. (after
killing msdev, which is normal I guess).
I tried to reinstall msdev, but it didn't fix the problem.

Could someone help me to figure out what's going on?
The CMakeError.log doesn't say anything useful.
