Yannick Morvan received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Institut Superieur d'Electronique et du Numerique (ISEN), France in 2003. During his undergraduate studies, he worked, in 2002, at Philips Research on embedded image processing software and, in 2003, at Philips Medical Systems on X-ray image quality enhancement algorithms. In 2004, he joined, as a Ph.D. candidate, the Signal Processing Systems group at the Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands. During his Ph.D. project, he was involved in a joint project of Philips Research and the Eindhoven University of Technology about the development of a multi-camera video acquisition and compression system for 3-D television. In 2007, one of his papers on multi-view video coding obtained a Best Paper award nomination at the Picture Coding Symposium in Lisboa, Portugal. From 2008 to 2013, Yannick Morvan was 3D Imaging Scientist at Philips Healthcare, Best in The Netherlands. Since 2013, Yannick Morvan is at b<>com which is a Technology Research Institute.
