Summary0005454: Support Philips PAR/REC image files in ITK
DescriptionITK supports a wide variety of medical imaging file formats, such as DICOM, Analyse, NifTI, etc.

I request that it also support Philips PAR/REC image files.

Don Bigler wrote some classes that do exactly this, available here:

Integrating them into ITK is perhaps the best approach, though I have not yet tried his classes.

The best way to proceed will be to suggest Don Bigler to submit his classes to the Insight Journal, and from them we will follow the standard procedure for adding new classes to ITK.

I think it makes more sense to keep this bug open until its actually in ITK and working well on the various dashboards. With the bug closed, we may forget... :)

BTW: the PAR/REC readers have been working well for us for many weeks now. We found one little bug, filed as 8476. But I think we can close this one, and think about moving this code out of Review...
