DescriptionI suggest that the documentation of commands, variables and properties is removed from the manpage and the manpage is dedicated to command line synopsis and CMakeList.txt-file-syntax, only - something which currently isn't documented anywhere, as it seems, while the commands are more fully documented by --help-command-list, already.

For example the use of variables and their expansion is explained nowhere.

Sending old, never assigned issues to the backlog.

(The age of the bug, plus the fact that it's never been assigned to anyone means that nobody is actively working on it...)

It's easy to re-activate a bug here if you can find a CMake developer who has the bandwidth to take it on, and ferry a fix through to our 'next' branch for dashboard testing.

I don't think this is relevant any more. The man page doesn't contain any of the information in the original report and information about variable usage is documented in "--help-variables".
