Phantom to mimick Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Lesions ================================== This directory contains the following files in zipped form: phantom_FLw.raw phantom_T2w.raw phantom_PDw.raw ReadMe.txt This data set was created from a phantom that was designed to mimic the MS lesions in brain MR scans. The true volume of lesion is 29.5 cc. The phantom was designed such that the simulated lesions had contrast comparable to the ones seen in routine clinical cases. Three scans, one each for FLAIR (Fluid Attenuated Inversion Recovery), T2 and PD (proton density) sequences were scanned. The three series are: =============== Flair series = phantom_FLw.raw T2 series = phantom_T2w.raw PD series = phantom_PDw.raw The information common to all the files is described as follows: ============================================= Number of Slices = 11 Each image = 256 x 256 Each pixel = 2 bytes Big endian spacing[ x, y, z] = [0.078 cm, 0.078 cm, 0.03 cm] The information specific towards the particular series: FLAIR ===== Echo train length: 8 TE: 120 msec TR: 10000 msec TI: 1250 msec Number of Acquisitions: 3 T2/PD ===== Number of Echoes: 2 TE: 15 msec TE2: 105 msec TR: 4000 msec
