[vtkusers] how do I know if vtk is installed?

Hi Seb,
Sounds like I have a problem. Let's leave the Linux aside, what about
Windows? I had the impression that Windows at least was precooked, something
anyone could just download.
Since I am running Linux, I had to compile but I had the feeling that
Windows was easier. Most of my users are physicians and they aren't going to
do anything complicated.

It occurs to me that perhaps my vtk.jar is specific to Linux (since I
compiled it on this machine) and perhaps it is the wrong jar to distribute
to Windows users? Is there any easy way out of this problem?

Thanks,
Ilan
