[vtkusers] volume rendering

I have a volume data set which are rendered in two different mappers:  vtkVolumeRayCastMapper (upper image in the attachment) and vtkDataSetMapper (lower image). I am wondering why vtkVolumeRayCastMapper image lost some outer layers and became smaller. This happens for thin-slab objects very often. Thanks.
