And I've thought that the ColorTransferFunktion changes the 
interpolation sceme so that interpolated values lie on the defined 
values. It is done partially by VTK as long one element does not have 
values at the nodes that exceed one step in the lookup table. In normal 
use (my calculation results) it seems that this is not really a problem 
but I could not figure out why my minimal mesh did not look as expected.
