There is a reference in the source code to a paper published in the jounal
of medical physics that talks about the accuracy of these two methods plus
additional information that me be helpful to you.  Hope this helps ...

Dear all,

I am computing the volume and surface area of both the
skin and bone isosurfaces using GetVolume and
GetSurfaceArea from vtkMassProperties. I would like to
know what it the accuracy of those 2 methods? Anyway
to measure it?
