[vtkusers] casting problem

Dear VTKers,

I'm having a strange problem with the vtkImageCast class when using it from
Python.  This is a relatively recent (one or two days ago) CVS checkout of
the VTK tree; the problem is easily reproducible by running:
python imaging/examplesPython/TestSeedConnectivity.py

vtkImageSeedConnectivity yields the following error:
ERROR: In vtkImageSeedConnectivity.cxx; line 171
vtkImageSeedConnectivity: Execute: Both input and output must have scalar
type UnsignedChar

This is strange since the data is being cast to the correct type.  Is anyone
else experiencing the same behaviour?
