I vote against a newsgroup

I think a newsgroup on a private (in the sense that is it not a part of
usenet) nntp-server would be the better choice.

With a mailinglist, my inbox gets cluttered and confusing (yes, I'm too
lazy to set up procmail). With a newsgroup, it's easier to see the
structure of the discussions, and connect answers to questions.
