[vtkusers] vtkVectorTopology -- not compiled in 3.1.2

hi,
	I tried using the vtkVectorTopology filter in vtk-3.1.2 but it
wasnt compiled in (with the --with-contrib).  The class exists in the
contrib dir but the makefile has no reference to it.  I tried compiling it
but it didnt compile (I dont remember the error now).  So, my questions
are:

what is wrong?  
Does the nightly release support it?  
When is the next stable release of VTK due?
