Hello,
Even if VTKEdge does not use OpenGL 3.0 (it uses OpenGL 2.1+extensions
like FrameBufferObject (FBO) ), it is always better to install a
recent stable driver because it may have bug fixes. You need at least
a nVidia GeForce 6 to run the GPU volume mapper:
See the VTKEdge FAQ:
http://vtkedge.org/Wiki/VTKEdge:FAQ#Run_time
You can figure out the OpenGL version+extensions supported by your
graphics card driver with the techniques explained in the VTK FAQ:
http://www.vtk.org/Wiki/VTK_FAQ#How_do_I_check_which_OpenGL_versions_or_extensions_are_supported_by_my_graphic_card_or_OpenGL_implementation.3F
Regards.
