In the vtkVRMLImporter class <a href="http://www.vtk.org/doc/nightly/html/classvtkVRMLImporter.html" rel="nofollow" link="external" target="_blank">documentation</a> it mentions that appearance nodes are supported. However, from browsing the source code on Github, it appears that although they are recognised by the parser, they are not actually parsed. It would be great if textures could be parsed as well since the basic appearance nodes essentially just contain a url to the texture.
Is this something that would be valued by the rest of the community? I'd love to drop the current VRML parser that I'm using but I can't sacrifice texture support.
