1 - Averaging a nodal result from surrounding elements is OK as long as the node is within a homogenous body. This process is not correct for nodes on the boundary between two different materials.<br>
2 - Is there a process to extrapolate element integration point quantities (stresses, strains) to nodes for elements with non-linear shape functions?<br>
