Yes. Keep the data as is but just change the visual scale. S instead of your z-axis being say 5cm (if you measured it on screen) you want to reduce it to a smaller scale say 1 or 2 cm. I couldn't see an obvious location to do this in Paraview. There is a scale filter - is that the tool ?
