I was playing with my own old netCDF reader and it didn't compile against the new netCDF/ParaView/VTK in git. After I got it working, I couldn't open certain files, and I think I found a bug (mind you, maybe I'm mistaken and I can't believe it'd work at all in it's current state. must be my stuff that's knackered)<br>

the API uses size_t for count (dimensions) when selecing hyperslabs, but in some places, long ints are used. I haven't checked anything into VTK or ParaView since it changed over to git (all the rules seem to have changed about which branches are for what). .... in case anyone discovers a problem and wants to try a fix.<br>
