[Paraview-developers] pqPipelineSource and pqPipelineFilter

I have a custom filter which when I fetch a pointer to it via pqActiveObjects will not cast from pqPipelineSource to pqPipelineFilter, despite accepting inputs. The only difference between this filter and my other filters is that it has two input ports. I need to retrieve the named inputs for the filter (getNamedInputs()).

Is there any reason for a filter not being of type pqPipelineFilter?
