Hello,

This might be a good time to mention also that at UTK we are developing a
set of containers and iterators designed to facilitate processing of
itkImage pixel neighborhoods.  These tools extend image iterators from
single pixel access to multiple pixel access in an N-d neighborhood, to
which operators (smoothing, derivatives, user defined, etc) can be
applied.

This is basic architecture stuff that complements the Image and
ImageIterator classes, so I thought I'd include it here as postscript to
Will's email. Most of this work is done, but none of it is in the cvs
repository (although if anyone is interested I can point you to
documentation).
