Hi igstk-users,

There is one thing that I can't understand, and I did not succeed in
finding some documentation on it.
Why image modality is linked to image data type ?

For example, 'unsigned char' data is used to represent UltraSound
volumes, 'unsigned short' is used for MR images. Is there any objective
reason ? Or is it an arbitrary choice ?

Have a nice day,

Vincent
