===============================================================<br><br>CALL FOR PAPERS<br><br>The goal of this workshop is to establish a forum for discussing systems and architectures for computer assisted intervention (CAI) applications. Continuing the success of the last three years, the workshop will focus on open interfaces, interoperability, and<br>
standards. In addition, this year, we will discuss practical issues, clinical applications and future directions of CAI systems and<br>frameworks. As in the previous years, this workshop will include strong participation from industry and academia.<br>
<br>Topics of interest will include but are not limited to:<br><br>-Architectures and Frameworks for Computer Assisted Interventions<br>-Systems integration and the digital operating room<br>-Applications for computer assisted surgery<br>
-Progress and status of standardization efforts, such as DICOM, IHE, CANopen, and ISO 11073<br>-Regulatory and liability issues and solutions for the modularization of CAI systems<br>-Open issues in the standardization process, e.g. semantics, standardized descriptions of components and device communication <br>
-Opportunities for further integration and interoperability<br>-Discussion of successes and unmet needs<br><br>We encourage the submission of full papers (min. 4, max. 8 pages) in Midas Journal format. Papers will be reviewed by the workshop<br>
