[CMake] CMake for Mac outputting .xcode instead of .xcodeproj

I am using CMake 2.8.8 ("cmake -version" in Console confirms this). Recently it has been building ".xcode" projects, which are for Xcode 1.0 to 2.0, instead of .xcodeproj which is the newer file format. It used to output the proper file type. Any ideas why the change? Just doing:

pushd ~/depot/code/main/ws/CMake/solutions/AIM
cmake -G Xcode .
popd
