[CMake] cmake 2.2 / 2.4 differences?

Hello,

I could not find a reference to cmake 2.4 on the cmake news page (
http://cmake.org/HTML/News.html ), while 2.4.2 is available from the
download page.

Is there a list of important changes between 2.2 / 2.4? (also when
exactly was 2.4 released?)

This also in relation to the official book : "Mastering CMake 2.2",
how much is "compatible" with 2.4?
