I will survey the CMake mailing list as to what version control
systems they use.  If a large number of people are using systems other
than CVS or SVN that raises the importance of the capability
considerably.  It also may scare up the resources to deal with the
problem.  In that case a wiki page for the problem would be best, as
it needs to be tackled in some "sticky" manner.  Lacking stickiness,
community awareness, or other kind of leadership, people will quietly
reinvent their own solutions over and over again.

That would be good.  I wasn't going to push you on that, since you
might have your reasons  for only showing off Dart1.

I still say the Dart1 references to the events of 2001 must be
expunged.  They are of no informative value anyways, a simple snip
would do.
