If you win over the Gnome's, you have basically won also the other half of free software developers :-)
That said, I don't have any connections to the Gnome devs, so I can't help a lot.
I can invite them to the cmake and kde-buildsystem list.
Uh, this might take some support time from KDE away to the Gnomes ;-)
