Hello Julien,

I had the same thought as you about upgrading to the latest version, 1.8.2. I actually tried that first, before I tried just upgrading to 1.2.1. When I upgraded to 1.8.2 several of the CDash pages displayed SQL or PHP warnings and errors. So I restored the database from a backup, and then tried upgrading to 1.2.1 and 1.4.1. As I recounted earlier, that also produced warnings and errors.

I could try upgrading to 1.8.2 again, but I have no reason to expect a different outcome.

Is there any documentation on the database that might allow me to identify the source of the instability in my database and correct it?

My database is 3.05 MB. I would consider sharing it with you.

Bob
I would recommend to
> do a fresh install of the newest CDash (1.8.2). There might be a way to
> fix the database by creating the missing groups directly in the database
> and link them correctly to each project. My fear is that some other
> things might be broken as well. If you want to go that path, and if you
> can share your database (if not too big), I'll be happy to help.
>
> Otherwise I think a fresh install might solve all your problem (and add
> new features from 1.8).
>
> Julien
>
> On 17/05/2011 19:36, Bob Berger wrote:
> > The CDash build dashboard at my company has stopped showing any builds
> > in the project page, http://<my-url>/CDash/index.php?project
> > <http://%3cmy-url%3e/CDash/index.php?project>=<project_name>.
> >
> > We run nightly builds for 7 applications, and initially the dashboard
> > was showing builds for the 3 oldest apps, but not for the 4 apps that
> > have been added more recently.
> >
> > In the interest of brevity, I will only describe my last attempt to fix
> > this problem, which has unfortunately made it worse.
> >
> > After noticing that there were no entries in the buildgroup table of the
> > database for the 4 apps with no builds showing, I had made a guess that
> > the problem might be related to this bug:
> >
> > 0007639: Build group description required by MySQL but not set by PHP
> > build group commands (http://www.itk.org/B ug/view.php?id=7639
> > <http://www.itk.org/Bug/view.php?id=7639>).
> >
> > Since I was running CDash 1.0.2, and this bug was fixed in CDash 1.2, I
> > upgraded to version 1.2.1 (the only 1.2 release available from
> > http://public.kitware.com/Wiki/CDash:Installation#Previous_versions_of_CDash).
> > I followed the procedure documented at
> > http://public.kitware.com/Wiki/CDash:Upgrade.
