The focus of this talk will familiarize students with the implications of intellectual property legislation and their every day use of the library resources.
The talk will cover the following topics:

Specific Use Cases
- A student making a photocopy of a full paper from a Journal taken from the library
- A student requesting the librarian for a photocopy of a full paper from a Journal
- Does the RPI library have to pay fees to the journal when doing this ?
- A professor making 30 photocopies of a paper to distribute it to students
- A student making a photocopy of a chapter from a book
- A student bringing a scanner to the library and scanning a paper from journal
