Overview
The course project is designed to ensure that students receive practical insight into the inner workings of real open source projects.
To that end, the students will join the users/developers team of one of the following projects
These projects have large users communities.
- About 2,000 subscribers in the users list of VTK, and about 450 emails posted every month
- About 1,200 subscribers in the users list of ITK, and about 350 emails posted every month
Process
Students will go through the following steps
- Course Project Initial Preparation
- Defining a project
- Getting settled (CVS, mailing list, Wiki Access)
- Submitting project results (Insight Journal)
- Reviewing Others Submissions (Peer-review)
